Former 6MOY Montrezl Harrell brings jolt to the Indiana Pacers frontcourt

Scoring isn’t particularly a primary concern for the Indiana Pacers heading into the next season, but given the frontcourt’s exhaustive injury history, fortifying the rotation with a big man who can score in bunches would not only be a welcome safety blanket, but also a tremendous boost to the second unit.

Montrezl Harrell, the Sixth Man of the Year in 2020, was recently traded to the Washington Wizards as a part of the blockbuster Russell Westbrook trade. While they can very much retain him, their putrid defense may force them to look for other options, especialy with their already-solid scoring attack.

While the fit may be a bit tricky to imagine, Harrell is a viable option for Indiana’s big man rotation. With his hyper-efficient finishing and mobility, he could anchor a bench unit which could be among the league’ most dangerous offensively. Better yet, he can play next to Myles Turner to rectify his defensive shortcomings due to him being undersized at his position.
