Indiana Pacers: 4 Players that will see more playing time in the NBA Playoffs
By Josh Wilson
Justin Holiday’s defensive versatility will be important for the Pacers
Justin Holiday has been so good this season that the Indiana Pacers should already be thinking about paying him this offseason.
A journeyman throughout his career thus far, Holiday has flexed his length on the defensive end and paired it with a hyperawareness and incredibly intelligent play.
He makes great reads on defense that position him for forced turnovers. He sees plays two or three clicks before they develop and moves at the exact right moments to make the most of traps that his teammates put together.
Defense is huge in the playoffs, and Holiday is one of the first players that should have his name called as a result of the defensive stakes going up. He doesn’t offer a ton of scoring, but the Pacers have enough offensive weapons to make up for his falters on that end.
Holiday has the team’s best defensive box plus/minus of players with more than 100 minutes this season, and is worth more than the 24.9 minutes per game he’s gotten so far.
