Domantas Sabonis can make it back-to-back All-Star selections

Domantas Sabonis was more than deserving of an All-Star selection this year, no matter what anyone tells you.

Sabonis was the team’s best player while OIadipo was out and effortlessly put up great numbers with the starting unit and second unit. He was an offensive anchor and though he has things to work on on the defensive end, he was a huge bright spot of this season.

He grew into exactly what the Pacers wanted when they signed him to a contract extension prior to this season. Of players who were offered rookie-scale extension at the top of this year, Sabonis was the fourth cheapest player and has the second-best PER this season.

Elevating his per-game averages this year to 18.5 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists this season, he is only going upward from here. With Oladipo back, it’s a sure thing that Sabonis has everything he needs to make another All-Star game, this time on his team’s floor.
