Bojan Bogdanovic

Another key piece from the last 2 years, Bojan Bogdanovic was a fan favorite. When he signed with the team, he was known for being a good shooter but also for being one of the worst defenders in the league. While he never became a stopper with the Pacers, he bought in when it came to defense and was always solid, especially in the 2018 Playoffs against the Cavaliers and LeBron James. He also proved he could score at a high level, most notably when Victor went down this past year with a season-ending injury.

After this past season where he averaged a career high 18 points per game, the Pacers were not the only team who wanted to sign him. It has been reported that Bogey and the Pacers had reached a 3-year deal before free agency started, only for the Utah Jazz to swoop in and offer him a 4-year, $73 million contract.

This was just too rich for the Pacers (not to mention the Jazz will be paying him almost $20 million when he’s 34), so the team had to let their Croatian sniper go. Congrats to Bogey for getting paid, and we wish him all the best out west!
