Ike Anigbogu’s current contract

Soon after being selected by the Indian Pacers, Anigbogu signed a three year, $3,946,762 deal with the team. However, it is a very interesting contract in the way it is structured.

The payouts of the deals are unique. The first year was worth $950,000. This coming season, Ike is set to make $1,378,242. In the 2019-2020 season, he will make $1,618,520…

Possibly.

The third year of Anigbogu’s contract is fully non-guaranteed. That means if the Pacers waive him, his money comes completely off the books next year. In order to have this be the case, he needs to be waived by June 29th, 2019.

Only $650,000 of Anigbogu’s contract for this season was guaranteed, but the Pacers let his guarantee date come and go. He will make his full $1.37 million this season. But because his coming season is non-guaranteed, he is essentially in a contract year.
