Glenn Robinson III is one of four players participating in the 2017 Slam Dunk Contest. He’s hoping to shock the world.

The dunk contest has been rejuvenated ever since Zach LaVine participated in it a few years ago. LaVine is currently out with a major knee injury, but 2016 runner-up Aaron Gordon will be ready to roll. Gordon had some jaw-dropping slams last year, and many people thought he was robbed of winning it all.

Glenn Robinson III is probably the sleeper among this year’s participants, which says a lot considering he can get up there. Here’s what he told Scott Agness regarding the dunk contest.

"I’m just excited. It’s going to be my first time at all-star weekend, first time being in front of all the players and celebrities. Just looking forward to putting on a show. I practiced some things and I just want to go out and have fun."

The Pacers haven’t had a player represent them in the dunk contest since Paul George did it in 2014. He also did it in 2012. He was unsuccessful in both outings, but had his fair share of sweet dunks. Especially this glow in the dark 360 windmill slam.

Fred Jones is the only Indiana Pacer to ever win the dunk contest. He did it back in 2004, beating out guys like Jason Richardson, Chris ‘Birdman’ Andersen, and Ricky Davis. Glenn is joining Paul George, Gerald Green, Fred Jones, Jonathan Bender, Kenny Williams, Antonio Davis and Terrence Stansbury as the Pacers players to compete in the slam dunk contest.
