Don’t look now, but the Indiana Pacers are just three games out of the playoffs.

Things have not been pretty this season — especially in January — but the team did destroy the New York Knicks last night.

But, hey, everyone destroys the Knicks, you might say.

This changes nothing.

While that is true and plenty of people around the team expect status-quo bad play for the rest of the season, there is cause for hope.

And, really, the more you dig into the other ancillary factors about the team’s struggle this year and the Eastern Conference at large, the more it looks like the Indiana Pacers will make the playoffs.
