The Indiana Pacers managed to relatively surpass expectations this season. While most pundits projected the team to cling onto the bottom of the standings for the large part, the Tyrese Haliburton-led squad managed to flirt with the postseason when healthy. They may have missed the playoffs outright, but no one will argue about the franchise having made big strides in this campaign.

One of the biggest bright spots for the team this season has been Buddy Hield. Despite being surrounded by a wide amplitude of rumors left and right, the veteran sharpshooter remained consistent all year as a key player in the starting unit, even managing to set a personal history for himself in his first full season with the Pacers.

Buddy Hield set a personal best in his first full season with the Indiana Pacers

This season, Hield set a career-high for three-pointers made, having drained 283 with one more game on deck. This mark surpasses his previous best of 282 triples made during the 2020-21 season with the Sacramento Kings.

His 283 three-pointers made this season ranks second in the league overall, just behind Klay Thompson’s 295 (and counting). To give that number an even better sheen, the 30-year-old has canned 42.2 percent of his attempts from rainbow country, which ranks as his third-best mark in a season.

In addition, his three-point percentage ranks second (just behind Steph Curry) among the top-40 players in three-pointers made this season. Clearly, his volume from downtown has been paired with an eye-popping efficiency rate that undoubtedly hoists him up as one of the league’s best marksmen.

We have previously spoken about how Buddy deserves more noise when speaking about the best three-point shooters the league has ever seen, and what he managed to accomplish this season should only bolster his case, especially with the Pacers seemingly very amenable to welcoming him back next season.

Hopefully, Buddy Hield can continue being a lethal perimeter weapon for the Indiana Pacers, especially with the league’s three-point revolution still on an endless rampage.
