David West — Golden State Warriors

Call David West a ring chaser, but he got one.

His first stop with the San Antonio Spurs didn’t bear fruit, but then the Golden State Warriors came calling. His regular season with the Warriors last year was uninspiring, but once the playoffs came, it was clear why Golden State added him to their roster.

More from Pacers News

West shot a ridiculous 57.6% in 17 playoff games and posted a +21 net rating, meaning when he was on the court, the Warriors outscored opponents by 21 points. The 17-foot Assassin lived up to his name as he took around a third of his shots from that range, making 47.4% of his attempts.

While West made the choice to leave Indiana for greener pastures after The Lost Season, he doesn’t fit into the Pacers current plans, anyway. Would he help Indiana? Of course, he’s David West. But his time had come and gone in Indiana, and he deserved to chase a ring.

He is playing a slightly bigger regular season role for the Warriors and in on tract for his best season since leaving the Pacers. His 61.7% FG% is absurd, but he is in the perfect situation with Golden State.
