Alex Poythress led the way with 28 points on Tuesday night as the Fort Wayne Mad Ants got back to their winning ways with a 120-112 win over the Long Island Nets.

Poythress did his work from the field (9 of 15) and the foul line (10 of 12) while finding time to grab nine rebounds and registering two blocks.

He also fouled out with six fouls in a game where the NBA Development League deployed four officials as part of an experiment to improve the game.

Poythress was one of four scorers for the Mad Ants who put up 20 or more points. Next in line was Stephan Hicks with 25 points on 7 of 13 shooting from the floor, 4 of 7 shooting from deep, and 7 of 10 from the foul line. He also had 8 rebounds and 6 assists.

Travis Leslie was next in line with 23 points on 9 of 13 shooting, including a pair of free throws and a 2 of 4 performance from 3-point range.

Trey McKinney-Jones had 20 points on 5 of 8 shooting from the floor and 9 of 11 from the free throw line.

As he usually does, Julyan Stone led the way for the Mad Ants with eight assists.

The win improves the Mad Ants record to 14-7, a half-game behind the Raptors 905 in the D-League’s Central Division.
