The playoffs are fastly approaching and the Indiana Pacers are making a move up the power rankings.

Despite losing a pair of games last week the Indiana Pacers are moving up slightly in the power rankings as the regular season approaches its end.

The losses to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Toronto Raptors were hard-fought so Indiana didn’t lose face is those two games and they beat the Boston Celtics (and then the Philadelphia 76ers), representing themselves to the outside observers.

The Pacers have an average ranking of 11.8 this week, moving an average of 0.6 spots.

ESPN. MARC STEIN. 11. Poor Paul George. He rumbles for 45 points Saturday night against visiting Oklahoma City … and is scarcely noticed because of the havoc wreaked by Russell Westbrook (with his fifth triple-double in eight games) and Kevin Durant (with a mere 33 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists in support). The Pacers, meanwhile, are now 14-14 in their league-leading 28 games decided by five points or fewer; Minnesota (10-17) and Denver (14-11) are next in line with 27 and 25, respectively. 10. After shooting below 40 percent in four of his previous five games, Paul George went for 45 points in Saturday’s loss to the Thunder, <a title=. @johnschuhmann. NBA. JOHN SCHUHMANN

@Jeremy_Woo. Sports Illustrated. JEREMY WOO. 11. You’re probably already aware of Paul George’s terrific season, and after a 45-point showing going toe-to-toe with Kevin Durant, one would hope so. He alone makes the Pacers a tough playoff draw—and with the league’s easiest remaining strength of schedule, those odds look favorable. (Last week: 13) —<a href=

CBS Sports. MATT MOORE. 16. Is Ty Lawson ever going to play for the Pacers? His situation made a beatwriter invoke the name of Andrew Bynum, so this is officially getting weird. Indiana fell short against OKC despite Paul George’s 45 points and suffered a tough loss to Toronto in overtime this week. Good news: the Sixers, Pelicans, and Nets are coming up. HoopsHabit. GERALD BOURGUET. 11. It’s never fun when your franchise star drops 45 points against a good team and you<em>still </em>can’t walk out of the arena with a W. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened to <strong><a href=. @GeraldBourguet
