Paul George and LeBron James Rivalry Still on, Just Changing Venues

Pacers fans loved, just loved, hating on the Miami Heat as they served as the roadblock between Indiana and the NBA Finals. But with LeBron James gone and the Heat seeming to be a shell of its former self, where will the Pacers take aim with their animosity?

For Paul George it’s going to be the Cleveland Fighting LeBrons Cavaliers.

“Bron going back home, it’s definitely going to pick things up when the Pacers and Cavs play,” George told CSNNW.com following Day 3 of Wednesday’s Team USA training camp. “I’m definitely still gunning for the top guys. Whoever the top guy is, I’m gunning for him. I got a target for him as well as he’ll have a target for me.”

I can imagine that Pacers fans might feel the same way, as beating LeBron in a playoff series is the great white whale of Indiana fandom the past three years.

As far as the actual basketball, the Paul George and LeBron James Rivalry in head-to-head matchup still favor to James, but considering he’s the best in the NBA, that’s not particularly a slight to George. The two have given us plenty of moments as well.

In fact if you look at their more recent matchup in the playoffs it is close to being a draw. PG has a 144-137 edge in scoring in those games, but LeBron has the wins and it should be noted, was in foul trouble in one game to severely limit his minutes.

Considering Cleveland fans should show up on time for games and stick around, Indiana fans are going to have to readjust their chants and insults. If you need a kickstart on ideas, just want the video below.
