Roy Hibbert Didn´t Really Fly a Plane, He Just Has Jokes

You know Roy Hibbert. Always with the jokes.

Here´s a story from Michael Pointer of the Indy Star about the above Instagram Hibbert put out there a while ago.

Earlier this month, the 7-2 Hibbert posted a picture of himself inside a plane cockpit. The accompanying message thanked the airline for “giving me the opportunity to learn on the fly. The Himalayas were beautiful and the Tibetan Monastery was peaceful.” The intimation was Hibbert co-flew a plane over perhaps the most mountainous areas in the world.

“One of the pilots got sick,” he said before co-hosting with Colts linebacker Robert Mathis the annual charity softball game for the Indiana Children’s Wish Fund at Victory Field. “They needed a strong guy to fly the plane.”

Hibbert later admitted it was a hoax and he was trying to have a little fun. Maybe it was needed after a trying few months in which his play dropped off considerably after a hot start to the season.

In related news, he didn´t go to Asia, but did spend some time in Spain during his early offseason vacation. And he said it was rather nice since, with the World Cup taking up that nation´s attention, nobody there ¨could have cared less about basketball.¨

Still, when you´re 7´2¨, I don´t think there is any way you avoid some looks.
