Post-Game Grades: Pacers Can't Rebound, Shoot, Compete in Game 5

The Good: Rasual Butler shot well from the line.

The Bad: The first 48 minutes, during which Indiana was out-rebounded 62-23.

MVP: Marcin Thortat. The Polish Hammer brought down god’s thunder all over the glass and the restricted area and midrange and everywhere else. This was his game, Indiana just happened to be hosting it. He finished with 31 points on 15 shots and 16 rebounds, which was historic.

LVP: This question presupposes that someone had value and I will not answer it.

X Factor: Personally, I thought Washington’s rebounding edge played a big role.

I assume the Pacers set all sorts of records for awfulness during this game. While it was not out of the question that Washington would win this one, this was beyond embarrassing.

    Not enough Fs.

Pfft, I already made that joke

Worse than any loss to Atlanta. Not much you can do when a bunch of scrubs can’t miss from beyond the arc. This game? The Pacers just gave up. The Wiz played like their season was over if they lost, and the Pacers didn’t seem to want to play as hard as it would take to win against a team playing like that.

How does Lance have 0 rebounds and PG 1 rebound. Absurd.

    • Tenacious D.

Lavoy Allen had four, but don’t expect that to earn him any PT. He produced half as much scoring as Roy with only 25% of the minutes and matched Ian’s production with only half as many minutes…but he was a late-season acquisition so we can’t play him.

    (Miami fan)

Being a huge fan of CJ Watson from his college days, it really pains me to pull against the Pacers, especially since I’ve spent all year hoping for Miami and Indiana to meet in the ECF when both were at the absolute top of their games.

I was fully anticipating an epic 7 game series. Instead Dwyane Wade is still looking iffy and the Pacers have played some spectacularly awful basketball over the last couple months.

It is incredible, but I really am hoping the Pacers go down at this point if only because I believe the Wizards will present a more intriguing conference finals against the Heat.

Even if the Pacers somehow do beat the Heat in the ECF, I can only imagine it would be because it was some of the most horrendous, mind bogglingly terrible basketball ever seen. I can’t pull for that kind of matchup.

Um. Where’s Vogle’s F? An F for letting them have the day off. An F for not getting them up for this game. An F for continuing to go with Scola over Copeland. He deserves as much blame as the players.

him and bird deserve 100% of the blame

    This team is coached horrendously.
