The story behind the Atlanta Hawks’ game 5 win over the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis was their second quarter eruption, led primarily by reserve Mike Scott.
Scott led Atlanta through the second period, when the Hawks outscored the Pacers, 41-19. It was Scott’s five three-pointers and 17 total points that put a damper on Indiana’s hopes heading into halftime. The Pacers trailed the Hawks at the break, 40-61.
Here’s a highlight video recapping Scott’s hot shooting from the second quarter:
Mike Scott wasn’t the only one pouring it on for Atlanta in the first half. He received help from his teammate off the bench in Shelvin Mack, who played his college ball up the road from Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis at Butler University. Mack added 13 points of his own in the first half.
