Pacers Should Plan to Face Dwayne Wade Tonight

Here we go again: another battle between the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat. As usual, let the uncertainly surrounding Dwayne Wade’s availability for Wednesday’s game surface hours before tip-off.

In each of the past two seasons, Indiana has met Miami in the playoffs. In 2012, it was the East semifinals that saw the Heat wipe out the Pacers in six games. Last season, Indiana took the defending champions to seven games in the Eastern Conference Finals before eventually watching Miami defend its first championship with the “Big Three.”

It seems that ever since this so-called rivalry began, there have been questions about Dwayne Wade’s health leading up to the game. Typically, the concern has involved his knees, but never has it kept him out of a regular season game with as much importance as tomorrow’s.

Wade did sit out of Monday’s Heat game against the Portland Trailblazers. However, the news that Wade was a “full participant” in Tuesday’s practice in Miami tells me the three-time NBA champion will suit up for the game against the Pacers. Both teams enter Wednesday’s showdown in Indianapolis struggling to find ways to win.

For the Pacers, it has been the offense that has suffered miserably over the past week. For Miami, it has been a little bit of everything combined with Wade in-and-out of the lineup recently.

Despite Wade’s injury, LeBron James confirms the Heat will be ready to play:
