Post-Game Grades: Pacers Not in the Mood, Get Embarrassed in Charlotte

postgamegrades_inpost-e1386598798950

The Good – Evan Turner made a couple nice post moves and drove to the rack a few times.

The Bad – Indiana scored 8 points in the first quarter. EIGHT. Two less than 10. The Ocho. Moreover, the DPOY favorite got abused all night by Al Jefferson, Paul George played like Paul Simon, Lance Stephenson did this, and essentially everyone on the team (plus its coach) spent more time pleading with the refs than they did being accountable for themselves.

MVP – Al Jefferson. He was an absolute beast in the first half, and scored 34 points on 25 shots while making Roy Hibbert look like a shorter Hasheem Thabeet. Monster mash.

LVP - Paul George. 2 points on 0-for-9 shooting with 5 turnovers? I mean …

X Factor – Chris Douglas-Roberts. He hit all 3 of this 3-point attempts and had 12 points before any Pacer player had more than 10.

Agree? Disagree? Yell at Jared Wade on Twitter @8pts9secs.

    Everyone gets Fs.

I honestly didn’t think this quickly extending slump could get any worse, but getting crushed by the Bobcats is pathetic. Hopefully this is rock bottom, because if it’s not, I don’t want to see anymore Pacers basketball. Bye bye 1 seed, it was nice knowing you.

David West has been telling this team to wake up the past week. Well the phone just blew up last night, let’s see if they answer.
Not sure if I want PG to have a sore back so he has an excuse for being so off on his shooting, or if I would rather have him just be in a slight slump. If his back his sore I think the guy might need a night or two off? Hard to say with the Rockets next up. Anymore news on whether that baby was his? It appeared to mess with him mentally before.
Good to see Turner and Copeland have a good games. If Turner gets some confidence on this team and Vogel can start incorporating Copeland in, I think those are two big steps for this team come the playoffs.
If the Pacers go down and win in Houston then all will be forgotten. Big Roy needs to come out a redeem himself against Howard. Then all the critics will hush.

Glad to see you didn’t give everyone Fs Jared. I think in the past you would have, but some guys didn’t mail this one it like others.

An average night for Stevenson is an F?

Free Chris Copeland! I know the Pacers have issues getting guys minutes. But Copeland is probably the most efficient scorer on the team. I think we need to go small and fast with the 2nd unit more often. Watson, Lance, Turner, Copeland and Mahinmi. Run run run and get some transition baskets. Teams know that the Pacers are going to play predictable half court offense right now. I’m not saying cut Scola out completely, just mix it up a bit.

I agree. and get rasaul butler some minutes. he always does well

It was brutal. I was there and witnessed the whole ugly game. It looked more like the Bobcats were playing an NBDA team. I don’t know what Rick Pitino’s waterboy has up his sleeve to fix this hot mess, but it needs fixed quickly.
