So many different thoughts on this game as I am not sure which direction to go. First, you look at Paul George and his ability to hopefully break out of the small slump he was in. He got 27 points on 10-19 shooting, which is better than the shooting percentage he’s been getting over the past few games. Lance Stephenson came back to the team with his own 16 points, but definitely had some bad turnovers in this one.

That’s where this game seemed to go for the team as they should have won this rather easily when they went up 17 points. After that, it was all Orlando. I couldn’t remember what the run was, but I believe the Magic put up 30 some points over a short time to get back and get a lead in this game.

I guess you could give the Pacers credit for battling back after that run and being in this game when it looked like it was going to get away from them. They even had a shot at the end when the Magic couldn’t get the ball in, and the Pacers come up with the ball. But Paul George takes the ball up the court and goes for a game winner, when I believed they should have used the last time out to set up some play to get a good shot at winning.

The Pacers were outplayed in that fourth quarter mostly by Victor Oladipo who ended up with 23 points who had 13 points in that final period. The Pacers give up 29 points in that final period to let this game get away. That’s where the Pacers are such a strong team having one of the best point differentials in the second half since the 1950’s. That’s quite an accomplishment, but there wasn’t enough scoring in the second half to get the Pacers a victory in a back to back set.

Now the Pacers have to regroup and get ready to play tomorrow night against the Denver Nuggets in yet another revenge game. Luckily, they’re playing at home, where they’ve been so good. They’ll have to be at their best to get a win against the Nuggets who already took care of the Pacers this season.
