Indiana Pacers Look to Sign Andrew Bynum

There is your BIG Indiana Pacers’ news of the weekend and possibly the season. I didn’t think I would be talking up the idea of Andrew Bynum coming here to the Indiana Pacers, but looks like this is going to happen.

I’ve stated before I have big concerns about the attitude he brings to a locker room. I’ll definitely be in wait and see mode about his play on the court, but at the same time, the Pacers do have the right guys in the locker room to hopefully get Bynum back on the right track.

Do you think someone like David West is going to put up with some immaturity on Bynum’s part? How about Danny Granger? Even George Hill is a great source of leadership for this time.

I’ll also have to give the Pacers’ front office some credit for going out to make a move. I believe this is all Larry Bird, and obviously this is showing he’s all in for this season. As if we needed to believe that before.

Larry Bird looks to have that tendency to take a shot on guys. Ron Artest, Stephen Jackson, Lance Stephenson. I think Lance Stephenson is the guy that you really see what Bird was thinking when he drafted him. He was very high on Stephenson and look how Stephenson has lived up to that potential. There’s still room to grow.

I hope Larry Bird has done plenty of talking about the expectations to Andrew Bynum. I don’t know what the expectations are for him, possibly filling some minutes when Ian Mahinmi isn’t performing as well. I will say if you had to pick between Bynum and Mahinmi and you based it upon ability, Bynum wins out.

I just want to see what this guy will bring to the court, and then I’ll go about the deciding on if this was the right move for the Indiana Pacers. Right now, I’m highly questioning it, but feel Bird wouldn’t make this move if he didn’t really believe in it.
