Indiana Pacers February Preview

The calendar has changed to a new move, but the Indiana Pacers are still in that top spot in the Central Division and the Eastern Conference. That is the good news about the month changing. The bad news is that last month could have been a better month for the Blue and Gold, so this month, it is important to step up and grab those wins. The Pacers have a light month with only 12 games on the dock this month and an All Star weekend built in.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this month is the signing of Andrew Bynum. Will he even make a difference this month and get some time out there playing for the Indiana Pacers? Personally, I think if he’s ready to go, then you give him some minutes and see what he can do.

That is why there’s not a lot of risk for this because if you think he’s not worth the time and effort, then of course, you can cut him and move on. But I think that could hurt the team in a way if you wanted to prove the Bynum was worth that trouble. It’s an interesting move and I’m in wait and see mode as far as the pure judgement of it.

Also, this month, the Pacers will have two All Stars to keep an eye on, Paul George and Roy Hibbert. I am very surprised at the omission of Lance Stephenson, so maybe he takes that as a slight and performs at an even higher level in February.

If you want to check out the Indiana Pacers here in Indy, February is a great month to do that as 8 of the 12 games are at home. That bodes well for the Pacers as they’ve only lost two at home and have a chance to make up for the most recent loss this evening against the Brooklyn Nets.

There are those revenge games looming against the Atlanta Hawks in Atlanta. A place where the Pacers can’t seem to pick up a win. The Pacers will get another try against the Portland Trailblazers at home as well. The last time those teams met, Paul George went for 43 points. What would be better this time around is for the Pacers to pick up the win and Paul George to put together a fantastic game.

I’ll be bold and say the Indiana Pacers go 10-2 this month. There are those winnable games out there, especially if you can pick up all the games at home. Maybe you can get a couple of wins out on the road. Hopefully, the Pacers don’t hit any snags with the signing of Andrew Bynum and sit upon the top of the Central Division and Eastern Conference when March rolls around.
