Can you believe we are halfway through the season? That just shows how exciting this season has been for the Indiana Pacers. I feel like it’s not taken a stop since game seven of the Eastern Conference Championship of last year. The summer was busy with wheeling and dealing. The Pacers picked up C.J. Watson and Luis Scola to bolster the bench. They resigned David West and Paul George to keep those pieces in place. Now the team is sitting pretty with the top record in the league.
There are plenty of bright spots in this season. A win over Miami at home was great. That game against New York in the Garden made me think back to the Reggie Miller days with the way Paul George was working his magic. How about that big win in San Antonio after losing the past 11 times there? The next half of the season is looking tremendous as well with plenty of All Star celebrating and some individual awards to handout.
There are also areas to improve in. The offense could cut down on their turnovers and work the ball around better to improve their scoring. I would like to see the Pacers around 100 points per game.
Also, some of the “bad losses” left that ugly taste in the mouth. Still no win in Atlanta this regular season as a place that the Pacers never seem to win. Also, a rough loss just last night to a much improved Suns team featuring the former Indiana Pacers, Gerald Green and Miles Plumlee. That one was a head scratcher.
Overall, you have to feel good about the first half of the season with so many bright spots. I like to keep it positive around here, and that’s what I did with my mid season recap video. Sit back, enjoy and let me know your own thoughts on the season so far.
