The Pacers last meeting with the Toronto Raptors was not a game Indiana remembers fondly. They were heavily outplayed while committing a season high in turnovers, which lead to 32 points. Indiana came into tonight’s game looking to seek revenge. They were able to do just that.
Although Paul George was never able to get it going due to foul trouble we are now able to see what the off-season bench improvements along with Danny Granger’s return provides. The key additions not only allow for our starters to get comfortable rest while our bench maintains and often increases leads, but it has also been proven to boost our team when our stars are struggling.
Roy Hibbert was our high man with 22 points to accompany his 8 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. He was followed by Granger and Stephenson who both had 13 points. Lance was flirting with yet another triple-double adding 10 rebounds and 8 assists.
Looking over our last few games I see a difference in the squad from last year. When major players are struggling others are stepping up to the challenge. Most importantly we are finding ways to win when everything seems to go wrong. If we can find a solution to our offensive struggles, which should in turn eliminate turnovers, I can’t imagine there is a team that can beat us in any series. Especially the Miami Heat who are of course still the heavy favorite in the eastern conference.
Let’s hope that the winning trend continues as well the health of our players and we should be celebrating big come the summer time. Go Blue and Gold.
