Indiana Pacers (14-1) 99
Charlotte Bobcats (7-9) 74
That game might as well put everyone to sleep at the rate it was going. Double lane violation was called, which resulted in a jump ball. Delay of games were being called, which resulted in some free throws. That third quarter lasted forever, forever, forever. Do we need to talk about the shooting, which at one point was around 30% for BOTH teams? The Pacers had to feel ecstatic that they finished around 38% for the game. Oh yea, how about this, just take a guess who led the Pacers in scoring for the game? If you had C.J. Watson, go out and buy a lottery ticket. Give yourself a pat on the back for that one. Give yourself even more kudos if you predicted he would hit 6 three pointers before missing one. Finally, the Pacers did win this one thanks in part to that big fourth quarter surge. 39 points in the final quarter to continue their dominance in the second half of games.
That’s the best recap I can give you for that game. I was listening on the radio, so I can only imagine what it was like to watch that affair. At one point, there was just some laughter on the radio broadcast, which has to tell you all that you needed to know about this game. It might as well been a scrimmage at the YMCA with the way it was unfolding. I was waiting for a call for me to jump in there and take some shots. Just wait till these teams play again in December. I imagine it might be a much better pace, but who knows?
Now the Pacers turn their attention towards Friday and a game with the Washington Wizards. They can be thankful today for being in first place in the whole NBA after losses by Portland and San Antonio, who they will play during that rugged west coast trip. I do believe we’ll see what this team is made of after those five games out west. There will be plenty to talk about concerning that road trip, so look for that in the next couple of days. But first things first, finish up with the Wizards game at home, win another game, then head off to take care of the Los Angeles Clippers in a rare Sunday afternoon meeting.
