Indiana Pacers Host Philadelphia Sixers: Game Preview

Indiana Pacers (11-1)

Philadelphia Sixers  (6-8)

The Indiana Pacers look to complete a perfect week and continue playing perfect at home as they face off against Philadelphia this evening.  The story of most wins this season for the Pacers has been: get down at halftime and win strong in the second half.  It’s a pretty easy story to write, but one that fans don’t want to continue to see. The strong finishes are a nice touch to the story, but coming out strong would make for a good story as well.

Tonight could be that “complete” game that I know the Pacers have in their arsenal.  Those games are the ones that you know this team is wanting to put together more often.  With the Sixers being a nice story in that first week of the season, you have to be leery of an upset this evening.  Paul George will have to put the clamps on Evan Turner who’s averaging 21 points a game.  On the flip side, the Sixers will have to figure out how to stop Paul George who’s getting 24 points a game with most of those points coming in the third and fourth quarter.  That’s usually why the Pacers are such a strong second half team

Offensively for the Pacers, tonight’s the night to step up on that end as the Sixers are last in scoring defense allowing almost 110 points a game.  The Pacers have hit the century mark three times this season, but tonight could be the fourth time if things are flowing like they should.  Guys might be worn out after the physical game of last night, but no rest for the weary as they look to put away this Sixers game this evening.

Prediction wise, I’ll go with the Pacers in the comfortable win.  Just continuing this winning ways of double figures, and scoring over 100 points.  This should be that complete game that I’ve been waiting for the Pacers to finally put together.  Leading from start to finish is the goal, and I look for the Pacers to achieve that this evening.
