Indiana Pacers Off Season: Lou Amundson on the Radar?

Listening to some sports talk radio on 1070 the Fan, and this name came up as POSSIBLY on the Indiana Pacers’ radar. He’s a guy that was here in 2011-2012, and really became a fan favorite for his hustle and intensity in the game. He won’t be giving you points upon points or rebounds upon rebounds. But you want that energy guy, like Tyler Hansbrough, at a cheap rate, you might as well bring in LOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU. See the way I said it there, what fans don’t love saying his name that way?

For one roster spot, it makes sense to bring back Amundson, especially when you consider, he won’t be getting any significant minutes unless it’s called for. He’s going to be way down on the roster, but still a good piece to have for practices to bang around in the post. I think he could come in and just give your big men that rest, even in some random game in February or March when you want to dare I say it, rest a guy. Even at the end of the year if the Pacers are already wrapped up in a division title win, and set into a spot as far as the Conference goes. You can see I like the move to get this guy back in, but I am not holding my breath in anticipation over it.

The Pacers’ have room to work and plenty of time to worry about that final spot or so for the team. The team is pretty much set as it is, so any piece you bring it, is just some extra flavoring to the pie. I say let’s go for Amundson as I know I enjoyed his short time here. I am sure fans would love to see him back out there with that loss of Hansbrough. Do you see any other names out there that the Pacers have a shot to bring in?
