Gerald Green Thanks Indiana Pacer Fans

Now this is a great move by Gerald Green as he’s on his way to Phoenix in a deal that brings Luis Scola here to Indiana.  He took the time to throw up a picture, and thank Indiana Pacer fans for their support throughout the year. For a guy only being here one year, that does show the power of our Pacer fans.   We embrace all the players that come through here in one year or seventeen years.  Indiana is a place of basketball, and anyone who throws on the Blue and Gold will always be that memory of basketball here.

I know I’ve been very vocal about Gerald Green’s game, and it’s hard to pinpoint why it just didn’t seem to work out.  He never got going in a consistent direction maybe that’s because of playing time, not fitting into the system, not enough basketball knowledge, just among a few things that I did notice.  When Green was presented with more time, he did look to perform better. I believe out in Phoenix, he’ll get plenty of playing time, so we should see a much better season from him.

He was around 7 points a game here in Indy after averaging 12 for the Brooklyn Nets the season before.  The Pacers were putting some faith into his game as they even presented him with that three year deal, but after one year, it was time to move along.  Both sides work out on this past trade as the Pacers are able to move that contract and bring in Scola, who looks to be a great piece to add.  Now Green heads to the Suns, where he should see lots of action, and can showcase all that athletic ability he has.  He’ll have to improve in some of that basketball IQ game, but hopefully playing enough can get that up to where it should be.
