There’s the news that the Pacer fans have been waiting for. It’s great that this deal is done and out of the way. Now the Pacers will look to see what they can do to add the pieces to the puzzle for that championship run. There was plenty of reasons to bring back David West, and I believe he wanted to come back, hence why this got done quickly.

The Pacers are able to pay him and now can focus on just tinkering with what’s left. West is such a leader for this team, he had to come back. Just like last season, when the team had to get Roy Hibbert back, this David West move was a no brainer. Fans have truly embraced the guy, and I think he’s really embraced this team.

He’s a guy that you know will give you whatever it takes to win the game. Want a late basket? Give it to West. Want some hard nosed defense? Check out some of the tape when West had to guard Lebron James. Want that rebound to give the team another possession? West always has a hand near the basket. Now there are 36 million reasons for West to stay part of this franchise moving forward. I’m glad the Pacers went to work and finished this up, so other teams didn’t even get a chance to pursue West. Now he gets to continue what this team has started, and hopefully that ends in a championship soon.
