NBA Playoffs 2013: David West Will Be Ready

David West of the Indiana Pacers missed a shoot around today, but I am certain, he’ll be ready to go come game time at 8:30.  He’s such a vital part of this team that it would take a ton to keep him out of an important game like tonight.  He’s a guy that really is the heart and soul of this team. He’s brought leadership and that type of presence this Pacers team needed. The biggest question heading into the offseason will be how can the Pacers keep him around?  I think West wants to be here, but who knows about the money factor, and if the Pacers have the means to take care of him?  Tonight, he should show his worth by coming out strong.  He can’t miss those easy baskets like he did in game five.

I think we’ll see that aggressive West tonight.  West demanding the ball and getting baskets will be the best way for the Pacers to have a shot at winning. He’s going to have to be big on the glass as well with his penchant for getting rebounds.  Defensively, he needs to defend whoever comes into the lane, and make life miserable there. He’s got a much better on the ball defensive presence than people believe.  But I do feel offensively West will need to be huge.

He’ll be the presence on the floor to keep the Pacers in the game. If they can keep hanging around, then the Pacers could steal this game, and get to game seven. It’s all about that effort, and with West, you know what you will get.  Nose to the ball hard pressed playing.  If he comes out with a huge game of 20 and 10, the Pacers should be in this game.
