NBA Playoffs: Roy Hibbert Explodes into Player of the Game

How often is it that we get a few Roy Hibbert hight light reels? Well last night’s game provided that, and there was one play in particular that had me shaking my head. I couldn’t believe the way Roy Hibbert attacked the basket, and looked like he was going to tear through the rim.  That was such a great play that I could watch it over and over and over again.  Let’s just watch it one more time for beauty’s sake.

Now that’s how Roy Hibbert needs to attack each time he gets the ball. He can make a move once he gets going, but sometimes he waits too long, and there’s another defender there waiting. But if Hibbert could work on some move that gets him right to the basket, we’ll continue to see plays like this. You could just see that his confidence is so high right now, and what better timing. That is why I gave him Player of the Game honors.

He was doing it all last night. He even had a couple of great passes that led to easy baskets for his teammates. He ends up with 15 points and 9 rebounds. But his play was so much more than stat lines. He’s got that look in his eyes that he’s ready to step up. That’s what all fans want to see. That look of confidence that we all know Hibbert has. He just needs to stay up in this stratosphere, and the Pacers will be so much better because of it.
