Indiana Pacers (39-23) 115
Orlando Magic (17-46) 86
The Indiana Pacers weren’t looking ahead to their highly anticipated game with the Miami Heat as they took out the Orlando Magic early in this game. They were down 6-2, but that’s about as close as the Magic would get. The Pacers put on their defensive lock down and even get plenty of production from the bench. Something they need to get in the Miami game. Tyler Hansbrough and D.J. Augustin stepped up off the bench. Hansbrough added his own 18 points and Augustin gets 14. That’s what the bench needs to produce consistently. If that happens each night, this team will be hard to beat.
Paul George did his own work in the third quarter, and earned the fourth quarter rest. He puts up 18 points in the quarter on his way to 25 points. The defense was stellar as they got 30 points off 21 turnovers by the Magic. The offense was flowing as assists were being made. How about 33 assists on 43 made baskets? That’s the type of passing this team needs to do more often. Guys will look for each other, but they just need to make those clear passes.
Now all the attention can turn to Miami and Indiana. The Pacers are looking to sweep the season series in preparation for a possibly playoff match up with the Heat. The Heat are rolling along and haven’t loss since losing to Indiana. How could this game not get all the attention of the NBA? Tomorrow night should be a fantastic game, one that will be like a playoff game. Beat the Heat.
