David West Powers the Indiana Pacers to Victory

Indiana Pacers  (23-14)  96

Charlotte Bobcats  (9-27)  88

With Paul George out of the line up last night, you knew someone had to step up in his place.  David West showed that he’s still a producer and produced the second triple double of the Pacers season.  He worked his way to 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.  The most impressive stat is the 10 assists.  West is one of the better passers on the team as he always seems to find that open man.  If guys hit more open shots, he might have actually done this sooner. But congrats to David West on his first career triple double.  We all know he’s a double double machine, and it’s great to see something like this happen.

He was a big key in the Pacers’ victory last night that actually started off very rocky.  The Bobcats ran out to an 8-0 lead when the Pacers couldn’t hit anything.  But they weathered that bad shooting and end up only down one point after the first quarter.

It was the third and fourth quarters where the Pacers finally showed up.  They end up out scoring the Bobcats in both quarters and put away a pesky team.  Even with a nine point lead, the Pacers didn’t look that comfortable.  But this was against the Bobcats who have only won 9 games total. Plus the fact that the Pacers have had two great victories, you could foresee a let down happening.

The Pacers didn’t let down though, and now are on a four game winning streak with a good chance of extending it against the tough Brooklyn Nets.  The Pacers will hopefully get Paul George back tonight as he was battling the flu last night.  But if David West comes to play, there’s a good chance the Pacers will extend their winning streak to five games.  That’s ten straight wins at home as well.  Not much changed standings wise as the Pacers did build up another game over the Chicago Bulls for first in the division.  But they are still 2 games out of first place in the Eastern Conference.
