Indiana Pacers Sign Coach Frank Vogel to an Extension

This is the latest news coming out from the Pacers organization, and it’s something I believe is a great thing. I felt like in his short time as coach, Frank Vogel brought in some fresh air, and deserved this contract extension. He was a great youthful coach that is so optimistic about the Pacers, that you need to keep him around. He’s something that I feel like the players really buy into, and want to play for.

Look at the turn around this team has taken in the past couple of years that Frank Vogel has been around.  They get to the playoffs two season ago, and give the Chicago Bulls, a number one seed at the time, all they could handle.  Last season, he coaches up the team enough to get a third seed in the Eastern Conference, and the Pacers end up giving the Miami Heat all they could handle in that second round of the playoffs.

He’s a guy that’s surrounded himself with great personnel as well. He’s a guy that will fight for his players, which is something you can see when he’s got the technical fouls he’s got.  He’s not about any of the accolades or the recognition.  He talks about the team, and how they deserve credit.  Who wouldn’t want a guy around like that? This is a well deserved extension, and I for one am happy to see Coach Vogel around for the future.

What do you think about the contract extension of Coach Vogel?
