Indiana Pacers Continue to Roll

Thanks to last night’s victory against the Phoenix Suns, the Pacers are now riding a four game winning streak.  It wasn’t a pretty victory, but the team got the job done.  That was truly a team effort last night as every guy seemed to step up at different times to take care of business.

The Pacers came out of the gate a bit rusty, but that was almost expected with the six days off from game action.  They got down 8-1 early in the game, but end up on a good run, and built up their own double figures lead.  Tyler Hansbrough gets credit for what he was doing in that first half as he gets 12 points in 14 minutes of action.  He helped spark the run that got the Pacers an early lead.

George Hill leads the way with his 22 points as his shooting was superb.  3-4 from three point range and 9-13 from the field.  He came in and got some shots in early, which seems to have helped last night.  That might be something he does from now on.

David West got points in the clutch.  Roy Hibbert got a season high 14 rebounds.  Lance Stephenson was all over the place and really filled up the stat sheet with hustle.  Just a good effort from a team that was out of action for a lot longer than anticipated.

But there’s no rest for the weary as the Pacers headed out to Atlanta after the victory and will play a tough Hawks team that’s sitting in third place in the East.  This could be that type of win for the Pacers that can get them back in that national consensus as far as who to watch for in the Eastern Conference.  Then Memphis comes to town on New Year’s Eve, a powerhouse in the West.  These next two games will be a good indictator to see where the Pacers are heading now.  They can beat some of the bad teams, but haven’t got that many wins over the good teams.  Two games now that the Pacers can do this.
