Indiana Pacers Host Cleveland Cavaliers

Indiana Pacers  (10-11)

Cleveland Cavaliers  (5-17)

The Indiana Pacers are looking to stop the current 2 game skid, and get back to .500.  The Cleveland Cavaliers should be a good team to beat as they are sitting at 5 wins.  The Pacers catch a break playing the Cavaliers, who are playing without Kyrie Irving.  In a couple of games last season, he really put the team on his back and beat the Pacers by himself at times.  That could boost the point guard battle, and let George Hill become aggressive at times.

Another position to watch is the back up point guard for the Pacers as Ben Hansbrough is getting the nod to take over that spot.  D.J. Augustin is now the third point guard after slumping through most of this season.  There have been moments that Augustin has looked worth the money to bring him in, but most of the time he looks lost out there and doesn’t fit the second unit.  This could be the awakening he needs, and it can give Hansbrough the chance to show what he can do. I personally don’t know about Hansbrough’s game, so I’m interested to see what he can bring to the team.

The Pacers should be able to take care of business against the Cavaliers, especially playing at home as they look to have that better energy.  The crowd can feed the team, and the team can feed off of that.  I expect Paul George to continue his emergence as a scorer.  David West should be able to continue his double double ability.  Roy Hibbert should get touches to help his shooting percentage that isn’t where it should be.  Maybe this is the game to help get him on the right track.  Some of the next games should do that.  He’s got to start hitting those easy baskets and get his head right for this team.  If he can do that, the Pacers are so much more dangerous.  He’s my man to watch this evening to see what he can do to break out of the slump.  I predict a Pacers win by double figures.
