Indiana Pacers (6-7)
San Antonio Spurs (9-3)
Previous Meeting: Spurs won 101-79
Plenty of things on the line for the Pacers as they play the Spurs tonight in a Friday night battle. The last time out the Pacers just looked so flat against a tough Spurs team, so the shot at redemption is the first thing. Next, you look at Roy Hibbert, not looking confident at all against the Spurs, so it’s time for him to step up tonight, and provide another excellent game to his already excellent week. That triple double on Wednesday night was made impressive by the 11 blocks, a Pacers franchise record now. He doesn’t need to be pushed around by the San Antonio big men, but instead needs to show that he can play against them.
Paul George looks to provide another excellent performance coming off his 37 points against the Hornets, which included a now franchise record 9 three pointers. No one expects quite as good as that, it would be great, though, but 15-20 points on good shooting could help the Pacers a lot tonight.
George Hill can look to win against his former team, as his current team, the Indiana Pacers, haven’t won against the Spurs in 10 games. That’s right, 10 game losing streak to the Spurs, so how great would it be for this Pacers team to take it to the Spurs on a night where downtown Indy will be hopping.
Plenty of things at stake here for the Pacers as they look to ride this 2 game winning streak and continue it tonight and through the next game at Los Angeles against the Lakers. I will go out and say a Pacers win tonight by 2-5 points. This game should be a lot closer and more competitive than the last meeting. So Pacers don’t make me eat my words this evening as I will be in attendance and I am 2-0 while at games there at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse this season.
