Indiana Pacers (3-6)
Dallas Mavericks (5-4)
Maybe the friendly home of Banker’s Life Field House will get the Indiana Pacers out of this funk they are in. It didn’t help Tuesday night, but with the week the Pacers have had, something should wake them up and get them playing the right. You know the Dallas Mavericks will be ready to go as they featured three former Pacer players in Dahntay Jones, Troy Murphy, and Darren Collison.
Darren Collison will be the guy to watch on the Mavericks end. He might come in ready to show the Pacers what they lost by trading him. George Hill stepped into the starting role for Collison last season, and the Pacer went ahead and kept Hill around for the coming years. Both guys should have something to show tonight. This should be a featured match up to watch. Hill has struggled at times defensively against the opposing point guard. Collison isn’t a big guy, so hopefully Hill can keep him in check. He might even want to look to post up Collison as much as he can to get himself some good points.
Points might come at a premium with the way the Pacers have been playing. They are only averaging 87 points, but giving up only 91 in the process. It will take a gigantic defensive effort from all players to keep the Pacers down as they average over 100 points per game. Guys will have to communicate to each other and help out on defense.
I am not sure what kind of Pacers effort we will see tonight. But like I said, hopefully getting back to playing at home and trying to wipe away these past two losses, the Pacers bring their A game tonight. Roy Hibbert really needs to get going offensively, and what better way than tonight. Hill needs to get going tonight against Collison. David West needs to get back to playing as strong as he did those first few games of the season. Everyone needs to step it up and get the Pacers in the right direction.
