8 Points, 9 Seconds Redesign

You may notice that the site you’re currently reading now looks quite different than it did last time you were here. Don’t be alarmed. This is by design. (That’s a pun.) We’ve cleaned things up around these parts and, hopefully, improved the overall presentation, both in visual terms and in how it functions. There are now some extra bells and whistles that look pretty but you should also have an easier time navigating to find the type of content that suits you.

At the top, for example, the menu gives you ways to focus your reading towards, say, just our news articles (click “News”). Or perhaps you enjoy our opinions (try “Views”) and statistical analysis (“Stat Talk”). Maybe you don’t care whatsoever for the words we write. No problem (“Multimedia” –> “Video” will get you to some highlights).

Whatever you like, hopefully you can find it easier now. And hopefully you think it looks better than it used to as well. In addition, we will try to have more resources related to the team right at your fingertips. This year’s schedule and roster, for example, can both be found here so you don’t have to venture away to ESPN or Yahoo to find your information. We’ll eventually do something more dynamic with season stats.

I’m sure there are some aspects of this re-design that will annoy you. There are certainly a few known wrinkles that still need to be ironed out. We’re working on those. And there are also a few extras we were excited about that we just haven’t had the time to finish. (Look for a decent “History” section to exist in the not-too-distant future. Creating a forum is something we’ve also discussed. Anybody interested in that?)

But we believe the pros convincingly outweigh and cons you may experience. and we think you will share this view — maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life.

In short, we look forward to getting back to work — unlike this summer (sorry, we needed a lot of naps after last season) — in these new digs. We hope you enjoy it.

As always, please share your thoughts in the comments.
