Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee Bucks Off Season Recap

The Bucks had made a couple of moves this summer to strengthen their big men positions.  They bring in Samuel Dalembert that allows their power forwards to play power forwards.  Dalembert isn’t a great center, but he should be able to muscle around the post.  The strength of the Bucks is at their guard positions anyway, but there was still a void to fill after Andrew Bogut went away.  The Bucks also have a back up center in Joel Przybilla, who is a name you know only because he can come in and bang around.  The Bucks won’t be anywhere near the top of their division, but who knows maybe they can sneak into the playoffs.

With the scoring duo of Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings, the Bucks should put up some points.  But will that be enough to win games to make a playoff push?  They were right around the eighth spot last season, but couldn’t catch the Sixers at the end.  I am sure any team in the East would love to have one of those two guys mentioned on their roster for the scoring effort.  I think it’s not the year for the Bucks to get back to the playoffs even with a decent off season. The Eastern Conference will be a battle with some of the middle of the road teams, but there’s more talent on teams like the Sixers, Magic, and Nets that end up ahead of the Bucks in  that conference.

Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Match up

The Pacers should look at this as a winnable series against the Bucks.  The Pacers have more talent, and if they want to continue their trending of showing they are contenders, they have to win those winnable games.  They might drop one game to the Bucks, but in the long run, it won’t matter as the Pacers are playoff bound and the Bucks are lottery bound.

But the Bucks can put up a fight with that scoring duo of Jennings and Ellis as the Pacers have a tough time defending guys who can score.  If those guys get hot, the Bucks have a shot in these games.  Therefore, I think the Pacers should use their big men in David West and Roy Hibbert in the post to take advantage of that.  If West and Hibbert can add their own scoring punch, that will help the Pacers.

It’s a test for the Bucks to see how they are against what should be a top team in the East.  For the Pacers, it’s just another let’s win and move on type game.
