Cleveland Cavaliers Off Season Recap:

Not much noise from the Cavs during this off season.  There were rumblings that they would be involved in the Dwight Howard talks, but those fell through.  They did pick up swingman CJ Miles as a favorable back up to the guard/forward position.  Also grabbing Luke Harangody and Jeremy Pargo as young guys to put around Kyrie Irving.

That’s going to be the theme with this Cavs team.  However Kyrie Irving grows, the Cavs will grow as a team. I’ve seen him put up a big game against the Indiana Pacers, so I have a feeling and most people feel the same way, Irving is going to be a great point guard soon.  The Cavs won’t be doing much this coming season, but down the road they can be right back in the playoff hunt if the right pieces fit in Cleveland.

Indiana Pacers vs Cleveland Cavaliers Match up:

I wrote a little bit earlier how the Cavs could be a spoiler in the Central Division.    But not this year as the Pacers or Bulls should win.  The Cavs do have quite the point guard who is going to be great in Kyrie Irving, and I would give the edge to the Cavs when going position by position in match ups. I like what George Hill does for the Pacers, but there’s no doubt the Cavs are all Kyrie Irving’s team.

He torched the Pacers in a game last season, which turned me on to the idea that Irving is going to be great.  There’s still a young team here in Cleveland, and they might take a game from the Pacers in the three meetings that these two teams will meet.

The Pacers have much more talent in the starting line up that should present problems for the Cavaliers.  Roy Hibbert could have big games against the Cavs if the Pacers look for him.  I’m expecting big things out of Hibbert anyways, but this match up favors him greatly.  Who can cover Hibbert in the post for the Cavs?  That’s enough for me to call the Pacers the favorites in this series, and they should prove that come regular season.
