Men’s Olympic Basketball 2012: USA and Argentina Again

Here we go again, the Americans and Argentina tangle up in the Olympics for the right to play for the Gold Medal.  This will be the third meeting of 2012 for these two teams, two wins that the Americans got.

On top of that, these teams have met up in previous Olympics, even resulting in 2004 with Team Argentina preventing the USA from winning the gold medal that year.  But the US has a 5-1 record against Argentina, and I can’t imagine how they could lose today.

The only way that happens is if the US beats themselves, possibly foul trouble or just a bad shooting day, which can happen.  But this team has been rolling along, and should be able to win again.  They already took care of Argentina in pool play with a dominating second half, which shows this US team has that on/off switch.

Today’s game needs to be on the whole way through. No sense in letting Argentina hang out, and putting this team away early would bode well.  Personally, I’m all about the US dominating this game, and showing the world who’s the best.
