Orlando Magic Get Jacque Vaughn as new Head Coach

Jacque Vaugh Becomes New Magic Head Coach

Looks like the Orlando Magic have their head coach bringing in 37 year old Jacque Vaugh continuing their youth movement as they also hired 30 year old Rob Hennigan as their general manager.  This will be Vaughn’s first stint as a head coach. I’m very surprised by this move as I didn’t know what Vaughn was even doing.

I didn’t think he had a long NBA career, but he did play 12 seasons, and even played some with the Magic in 2002-2003.  Who knows what kind of coach he will make?  But he did have a good college career from what I remember.

Patrick Ewing should be pretty perturbed that he didn’t get the coaching nod as he’s looked to be in line for a head coaching job, but just hasn’t happened. I am sure some team will pick him up to let him lead their team.  But the Magic aren’t that team.

Now that the Magic have a coach, does that mean Dwight Howard stays?  Who knows anymore?
