The Celtics made a trade to bring shooting guard Courtney Lee into their team in what’s been a busy off season for Boston. They resigned Kevin Garnett and Brandon Bass. They lost Ray Allen to the Heat, but this deal for Lee should give that shooting guard position an upgrade. Allen was an older veteran, while Lee will be entering his fifth year. He put together a great season for the Rockets, and can do that as well in Boston.
For a guy that was so good in college at Duke, I don’t know if that has translated to his NBA career. I do think Hill had some good years back in the day, but then he’s had lots of injuries happen, and it feels like he’s had a few different teams he’s played on in recent years. Now he’s heading to the Los Angeles Clippers, where he’ll probably be called upon more for leadership than playing ability. With Chris Paul and Blake Griffin leading the way, the Clippers needed that veteran presence, which Hill can provide.
I think this one fell through the cracks for me as I kept thinking the Nets would eventually land Dwight Howard. Looks like this ended up better for Lopez as he gets this four year deal and can be the featured center of the Nets. But then again, the Nets could have worked to get Dwight Howard? So this is almost like getting a Ford when you could have had a Cadillac.
The Old Guys of the NBA must like Los Angeles as Jamison heads to the Lakers. Joining Steve Nash there, and Grant Hill in the other LA team, the Clippers. Jamison should be a good bench player for the Lakers, where they struggled most of the season. But I don’t think he can give much more than that. He’s only signed for a year, and then it’s off to another team I’m sure.
