Pacers' Summer League Begins Today

REMINDER: Pacers’ summer league starts today. They play five games this week. Copy below from a post about the roster that was originally published last week.

The annual NBA summer league in Orlando starts next week and the Pacers now have an official roster of the players they will send down there. It features Association “veterans” Lance Stephenson and Jeff Pendergraph in addition to both of Indiana’s 2012 draft picks, Miles Plumlee of Duke and Orlando Johnson of the University of California, Santa Barbara.

They have a few practices this week and then they head down Sunday before their first game Monday evening against the Pistons. They play one game everyday and fans can watch them all on NBA TV.  They have also generally been streamed online somewhere in the past but I can’t find any information on that right now. The league sure doesn’t do much to promote the summer league in Orlando compared to the one in Vegas. Google it Monday if you don’t have NBA TV, I guess.

Here is Indiana’s full schedule.

Indiana vs. Philadelphia Detroit – Monday, 7/9 at 5:00 p.m.
Indiana vs. Oklahoma City – Tuesday, 7/10 at 1:00 p.m.
Indiana vs. Boston – Wednesday, 7/11 at 11:00 a.m.
Indiana vs. Utah – Thursday, 7/12 at 3:00 p.m.
Indiana vs. Brooklyn – Friday,7/13 at 3:00 p.m.

What a terrible half of basketball….

Pacers 31.2% from the field with 4 missed FT
76ers 27.8% from the field with 4 missed FT

Bad half for scorers but plenty of rebounds available.

sure was good to see Larry near the basket with coach V, Orlando did play nice and while u saw flashes from Lance he still didn’t play very well, gimped around every time he hit the floor and was still outa control. Plumlee did ok but really was awkward on offense…its early so guess will have to wait and see…trust in da Bird

There is a lot to like about Orlando Johnson’s game. I think he missed a lot of shots that he would normally make, too. Here’s a breakdown of his game.

Hey NoLook! Looks like you were right, my friend. OJohn struggled with his shot in game 2. However, he did find ways to contribute despite his off shooting. 4pts-4rbs-5ast, and no turnovers. He looks real comfortable playing with Lance in the backcourt. The game vs. OKC was much more competitive and entertaining than i expected. I know it’s just summer league, but i like the way Lance has led the team at the point. Also, i must admit, i have been impressed with the way Plumlee has played.

I, also, enjoyed seeing Bird, Coach V, and B.Shaw on the sidelines watching the game. It really looked like they were having fun. That can’t be anything but a good sign for the Pacers going forward. I still can’t believe Shaw didn’t get a Head Coach offer, but i am glad he is back. I love him on the Pacers bench for one more year. This team just seems to fit. I wonder if Vogel, Shaw, and Burke might add a coaching chair this year for Jeff Foster. He was one of the best blockout rebounders in the NBA during his career. All the Pacers bigs could learn from that. Just a thought.
