Some big moves were made yesterday, so here they are in one place, with some small thoughts about them.
Well, looks like Linsanity is heading towards Houston. Talk about turning around your luck. Jeremy Lin was set to get cut before the New York Knicks picked him up, and now he’s looking at earning over 10 million dollars for the first two seasons of this offer. That’s not too bad at all, and he can definitely play a prominent role in the Rockets’ offense.
As it looks like the Knicks were losing a point guard, they picked up a veteran point guard. Who knows how many good years Jason Kidd has left, but maybe this next season he can run the offense the way that the Knicks need to? He’ll obviously put Amar’e Stoudemire in good spots to score. He’ll be willing to deter to Carmelo Anthony, and the Knicks will be good on offense, but what about Kidd’s defense, where the Knicks need to improve?
And another move set to happen, with a guy that was just retired last year. Now he’s set to join the Timberwolves with an offer set to be around 10 million for 2 years. Yet another offer that’s not too bad for a guy coming off big knee surgeries, and not knowing if he would be playing basketball again. It should be interesting to see how Brandon Roy holds up this coming season.
