Kevin Durant vs Lebron James

This is the match up everyone will be watching come game time for game one of the NBA Finals.  These two guys are right there up in scoring because they both can do that so many ways.  Each guy has their own way of scoring, and each guy can carry their team when need be.

Offensively, it’s hard to separate these guys.  I think at times Lebron James is more aggressive going to the basket than Kevin Durant. But then you go the opposite way, and I like the shooting touch of Durant more so than James.

Defensively, I might give the edge to Lebron James here as he looks to play up on guys and can get a block or two a game.  Durant has that length that can cause problems on defense, but at this moment, there’s not much I know about his defensive game.

Passing wise, it’s a push. Both guys can look for their teammates and will make that extra pass when need be.  End of the game wise, I think both guys know when to take over.  They both look to have that will to win, so it’s a hard call to make on which guy you take.

I think in this NBA Finals, the guy who gets the better of this match up wins it for his team.  Think about all that pressure on Lebron James and the idea that if he doesn’t win this series, all those critics have plenty of fuel.  But then I look at Durant, and think people assume he makes it back soon enough, so this first one isn’t that much pressure to win.  Other than the fact, that Oklahoma City has looked like the better team. But I do think Durant wants to win it for his team and the city of Oklahoma, so there will be pressure he puts on himself.

Either way it works out, this is what people will be talking about.  These are two of the stars that make up this new era of the NBA, and you can see why.
