NBA Playoffs: Sunday Preview

Two afternoon games that you can enjoy with your mom for Mother’s Day today.

Los Angeles Clippers vs Memphis Grizzlies

(Series Tied 3-3)

We got the other game seven today in Memphis as the Clippers try to get the win and face the San Antonio Spurs in the next round.  Memphis wants to win just as much, so they can take out the Spurs like last year’s first round.  I believe either team is going to have a tough time as the Spurs looked so impressive in the regular season and they easily took care of Utah Jazz in four straight games.  My prediction is it should come down to the end, and Memphis wins this game by under 5.  I picked Memphis in the beginning, so I need to stick to my guns.

Indiana Pacers vs Miami Heat

(First game Eastern Conference Semi-Finals)

Pacers fans started chanting “Beat the Heat” in the series clincher of the first round, and now they will get that chance.  This first game has me a bit worried as I feel like this could be the blowout game of the series.  The Pacers have been off a few days, and sometimes struggle after a break like that.  But then again, this team does seem motivated to come out and start hot in the first quarter.  That’s the key to me for this Pacers team to win the game, start hot, and hope to keep that going throughout the game. Or make sure they come out hot after halftime, like they’ve been so good about.  The third quarter was their high point of the Orlando series.  They just looked to be so good with making adjustments and they outscored the Magic in every third quarter.  This is a weakness for the Heat, so that could be something to take advantage.  But I think the Heat are very motivated to make the most of this series, and wanting to put any doubt in the Pacers’ mind about losing, so they should come out strong for this game.  My prediction, and I don’t like saying this as a Pacers fan, but the Heat could take game one with a win over 10 points.
