Los Angeles Clippers vs Memphis Grizzlies Game 7 Reaction

The Los Angeles Clippers are moving on to the second round for a third time in their “illustrious” history.  Yes I did just put some quotes around that word because who knows what kind of history this Clippers team has had. Mostly a team at the bottom of the barrel, and definitely nowhere near the popularity of the other  LA team. But who knows maybe another playoff series win, and that other team bows out, they could be the more popular team for this time.  I doubt truly that will ever change, but it’s out there.

But what happened in this game?  The bench came to play for the Clippers as they outscored the Memphis side 41-11.  Looking even deeper that’s half the points for the Clippers team as they put up 82 points to the Grizzlies 72.   The Clippers looked to be in control of this game for most of it.  The Grizzlies certainly didn’t help their cause with their 0-13 shooting from three point range.  No time is good for this, but especially a game seven in a series, where most people thought they would be moving on.

It’s back to the showers for the Grizzlies, and maybe next year they can put it back together for the playoff run that people envisioned this year.  The Clippers can take their shot at the San Antonio Spurs, who I believe will take care of them.  But if the Clippers can get this bench going, and get a little more production out of the starters, they could give the Spurs some fight.
