San Antonio Spurs 87 Utah Jazz 81 (Spurs win series 4-0)
The Spurs put together the sweep of the Jazz, and now move on to the second round, where they await the winner of the Los Angeles Clippers and Memphis Grizzlies series. The Jazz did put up a fight in game four to stave off elimination, but ti wasn’t enough. This Spurs team is impressive this season, and it’s no surprise how they took care of the Jazz in this few of games. Manu Ginobili got a steal late in the game to seal the deal for the Spurs. If you want another sign that this Spurs team was ready to beat the Jazz in this series, just look at three pointers. The Spurs made 99 compared to the Jazz making 27. Not exactly a close margin right there. And that’s a lot of three pointers made. So congrats to the Spurs on moving on. I’ll have a Jazz season recap up this afternoon.
Los Angeles Clippers 101 Memphis Grizzlies 97 (Clippers Lead 3-1)
The Clippers had to fight off the Grizzlies in overtime to get one game closer to winning their second playoff series in 36 years. The Grizzlies fought back from 10 points down in the fourth quarter to force overtime. But Chris Paul made sure the Grizzlies stayed down, and put up 8 points by himself in the extra session. These teams meet again on Wednesday night with a chance for the Clippers to put away the Grizzlies and face the Spurs come next round.
