NBA Western Conference Playoffs Recap

San Antonio Spurs vs. Utah Jazz (Spurs Lead 3-0)

Just as impressive as the Heat have been, this Spurs team has been as well.  They’re up 3-0 in a series where their margin of victory has been 15, 21, and 12.  Not really much of a series here, and the Spurs should be moving on with a win tomorrow night in game four.

Oklahoma City Thunder defeated Dallas Mavericks 4-0

We have our first sweep of the playoffs, and it went to the Thunder, who have bigger aspirations than just winning the first round.  This is a Thunder team that I’ve predicted can win the whole enchilada.  They just put away the defending champs, and now look ahead to the next round.  Kevin Durant has been great so far, and I look for him to continue his impressive play.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets (Lakers Lead 2-1)

The Nuggets got the win in game three to make this look like a series, but I still think the Lakers put it together and win. It wouldn’t surprise me to see them win the next two.  Kobe Bryant has had some scoring, but Andrew Bynum needs to bounce back from a bad game three, and get back to where he was in the first two games.  That should happen today as the teams meet for game four tonight.

Memphis Grizzlies vs.  Los Angeles Clippers (Clippers Lead 2-1)

Possibly the best series of the playoffs right now is this one.  Both teams look evenly matched, and it’s hard telling who is going to win from game to game.  The Clippers had to fight back from 21 points down in the fourth quarter to win game one.  Then the Grizzlies fought back in game two to win that.  Now game three was a back and forth affair as the Grizzlies put together a strong third quarter, but the Clippers did what they need to do in the fourth quarter to come out with the win.  The only thing I expect anymore out of this series is it will be going seven games.
