Indiana Pacers May Make a Move For Guard Eric Gordon

This is one name that I keep hearing as far as who the Pacers should make a move for in the offseason. For me, I don’t see why adding him would help this team that much. I feel like no one has a good reason either other than he’s an Indiana guy. Well signing an Indiana person isn’t the best reason around. If that’s the case, the Pacers would have got Steve Alford back in the day, and not Reggie Miller. We all saw how that one turned out.

To me, Eric Gordon is on the same level as Danny Granger. Guys right in that mid level of superstars. You feel like if they were just a bit more consistent, they could become a superstar.

I don’t know if you would have to give up Granger for Gordon, but I am sure with his contract you would have to give up some important pieces. I’ve been a Granger guy, so he’s the first one I think would probably go if Gordon came here in some sort of trade. Not sure if there’s enough money to sign him as a free agent with what we will have to do this summer, which is paying Roy Hibbert, and maybe adding another piece.

I personally like the team we have, and don’t think we need to go out and sign just the first guy that everyone thinks we should sign. Like I said, this type of move from fans feels like oh let’s get the guy from Indiana, and it’s probably not a good move for this team. See who else is out there, what money is available, and go from there. But if we have this same team in tact next season, who knows what could happen with a year together of this great group of guys?
